This project involved months of careful planning and preconstruction. Each stage of the project was carefully coordinated to ensure minimal disruption to residents of this high end SoHo building. Firstly, Darby Construction Services worked with the structural engineer to create multiple probes in the ceiling of an occupied penthouse apartment to locate and verify size of existing building structural steel beams. The existing HVAC equipment was disassembled on the roof and bought down through the building in pieces in a passenger elevator. Next, the new steel was then installed on the roof in time for the new HVAC equipment to be installed. The new equipment installation required setting up a crane on Broadway to lift everything into place.
